We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer. 

The Core Team is the backbone of Translated's engineering organization. We own and evolve the backend systems and orchestration layer that powers how the company operates - from internal tooling and automations to translator-facing platforms and operational workflows.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll work across the entire stack - building the backend services and internal APIs that drive our platforms, as well as the interfaces that translators, operations teams, and colleagues use every day. You're comfortable on both sides of the stack, and you take pride in delivering complete, polished features from database to UI.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full stack features across backend services and frontend interfaces
• Build and evolve internal tools and platforms used across the company
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design to production
• Contribute to automation and orchestration systems that improve operational efficiency
• Participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving thoughtful feedback
• Write tests and take code quality seriously (without being dogmatic about it)
• Collaborate with teammates across engineering, product, and operations
• Write clear technical documentation that others can actually use

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in full stack software development
• Proficiency in Node.js (TypeScript and JavaScript) on the backend
• Proficiency in React and solid fundamentals in frontend development (HTML, CSS, browser APIs)
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MySQL)
• Solid understanding of server-side web application architectures
• Comfortable working with Docker and containerized environments
• Proficiency in Git and GitHub-based workflows
• Enjoys owning problems end-to-end and will go out of their way to acquire whatever knowledge it takes to get the job done
• Excellent communication skills - able to talk about technical topics with non-technical people clearly and without condescension

Nice to Have

• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS services (especially S3, Lambda, SQS, EC2)
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development principles
• Experience with the Koa web framework
• Linux shell scripting and Unix system administration
