We’re looking for a Senior BackEnd Engineer. You will join the Enterprise Integration Team and will be involved in building integration components between the Translated platform and the customers platforms.

You will also gain the ownership of the Matecat Filters Platform, a key component of the Translated technological ecosystem that has the duty to handle 200 different filetypes by extracting the translatable content and reconstruct the original filetype filled with the translated content, preserving the format and style.

Responsibilities

• Participate in decision-making processes.
• Participate in building new connectors and maintain the existing ones.
• Maintain and evolve the Matecat Filters product.
• Practice code review and be code reviewed.
• Test your code.
• Care deeply about code quality, performance, but not be dogmatic about it.
• Write technical and functional documentation with your team.
• Collaborate with other areas (frontend, design, product).

Requirements

• Master's degree in Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• Knowledge of server-side web applications architectures.
• Proficiency in Java (JDK 17+).
• Backend Typescript/Javascript on NodeJs.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• XML parsing (DOM, SAX, StAX) and manipulation.
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker/Docker Compose).
• Git version control system and GitHub versioning platform.
• Good engineering skills and customer centric mindset.
• Enjoys owning problems end-to-end and is willing to acquire any necessary knowledge to complete the job.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to non-expert audiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Docker Swarm or Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in the translation and localization domain.
• Experience with Koa web framework.
• Experience with MySQL 8.
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development principles and their application to Java and JS/TS worlds.
• Experience with Github Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services platform (particularly S3, Lambda, EC2, SQS).
• Good command of Linux shell scripting and Unix system administration practices is a plus.
